Journey to the Arctic Circle: Alaska’s Arctic is one of the last great wilderness regions on earth. It is a remote, wild, and sparsely populated land of vast wilderness expanses and fascinating cultures. Amenities that are common in the modern world are rare or non-existent in the Arctic. On this day trip, we crossed the Arctic Circle and enjoyed stunning views of Alaska.

Began the day by traveling to the Trans-Alaska-Pipeline, where we saw one of the world’s largest pipelines. Learned about the incredible engineering and building of this crude oil pipeline, an epic land-crawling beast.

Drive to North Pole, Alaska (14.6 miles) to tour Christmas in Ice. The six-week Christmas in Ice event takes place at the Winter Ice Park and featured a variety of ice sculpting competitions where huge blocks of ice are carved into holiday-themed ice sculptures.

1:00-2:30PM Dog Sledding Experience with Black Spruce Dog Sledding

Met our friendly Alaskan Huskies for Mush!?. Play with the dogs before moving to the “hook up area” to prepare for riding in and driving a dog sled. After preparing us for driving and sitting on the sled, learn how to harness the dogs. We will help the guide hook up the dogs and away we go! The sled will stop multiple times on the trail to take pictures and swap positions between sitting and standing on the sled. Be prepared for a dump in a snow bank at least once on this tour. Upon returning, take more photos and help to get the dogs back in their houses.
