My work is challenging and satisfying and, as I age, I’m realizing that the pace at which I live is completely dependent upon the demands that I place upon myself. During my travels to villages I’ve come to realize that village life is organized by seasons, both of the earth and of the families living in the village.   I’ve wondered if the acceptance of the cycle of life, often found in these small villages, is because of their dependence upon the people within the village to fill a role in their community combined with a dependence upon the earth for food, both grown and hunted.

To me village life is natural, it expects birth, growth, decline and death. The wisdom and joy I see in the people who live in villages may come from not fighting the cycle but rather celebrating each phase.

My travels through villages and vines are teaching me to celebrate each season of my life.

Mary Beth I have a passion for creating and experiencing unforgettable moments and sharing those with others. I hope that this story has helped you experience one of those moments.
